KCB fans want beseiged coach Abdallah sacked
Pressure is mounting on KCB coach Juma Abdallah to step down after the team suffered its fourth defeat of the season.
The defeat left the team in 15th place with three points, level with bottom club Top Fry and winless after seven games.
In their lastest setback, the bankers lost 0-3 to Western Stima at Nyayo National Stadium.
Their next game is difficult as they come up against Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia this coming Sunday.
A handful of the KCB fans that turned out to watch match against Western Stima booed the team and expressed their dissatisfaction with Juma’s tactics.
KCB, who have been known as league pacesetters during previous seasons are finding themselves in very unfamiliar territory.
This is a sharp contrast to last season when at this the team was leading the table and ended the season in fourth place. This made Abdalla to be named coach of the year.
Turn fortunes
However, the coach believes he can turn the team’s fortunes around and asked the fans to be patient.
“This is a bad spell for us but I am confident we shall turn it around and have a good season. We have just been unlucky and our confidence is a bit low,” said Juma.
KCB looked nervy during their defeat on Saturday, allowing Stima to take charge of the game.
Striker Paul Kiongera has not hit the ground running since rejoining the club and is still searching for his first goal.
