Kawangware bars flout law
Bars in Kawangware continue to open before and after stipulated operating hours.
Following the recent appointment of John Mututho as the head of National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse, residents expected an immediate crackdown.
However loud music continues to play in the drinking dens way past midnight to the disappointment of the residents.
Last month, Mututho was named the new Nacada chairman, taking over the mantle from Dr Frank Njenga.
Mututho has been at the forefront in tackling alcoholism in the country and is credited with crafting the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act which, among other things, limited drinking hours.
