Kalonzo plays hide-and-seek with journalists

By EDDY KAGERA January 30th, 2018 1 min read

Nasa co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka gave journalists a hard tackle when he deployed a chase car to block media houses’ vehicles from following his motorcade from his Karen home to an unknown destination.

Mr Musyooka left his residence at 11:30am and gave a brief media interview before boarding one of the two vehicles outside.

Media houses then followed the deputy Nasa leader’s motorcade but the vehicle behind slowed down and was driven in a zigzag manner, effectively blocking the vehicles behind.

SECURITY WITHDRAWN

Citizen TV’s Waihiga Mwaura, who was commentating from the studio, called it a “cat and mouse game”.

Mr Kalonzo, during the interview, said Nasa team was going to a consultative meeting over the “swearing in” plans.

He slammed the switching off of TV stations as an affront on the media.

NTV, Citizen TV and KTN News were switched off by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for broadcasting live events from Uhuru Park where Mr Musyoka and Nasa leader Raila Odinga are set to take “oath of office”.

He also claimed that most of Nasa principals’ security has been withdrawn.
