Kajiado man explains reason behind his ‘threesome’ wedding – VIDEO

The man from Kajiado who early this week broke the internet with his wedding to two brides has said he learnt polygamy from his father.

In an interview with Citizen TV just days after the strange wedding, Tom Mako revealed that his admiration for his polygamous father is what inspired him to wed two brides and have several homes like his father.

Mako said he met both his wives while herding during two different dry seasons.

He first met Elizabeth Silamoi, 23, and the two fell in love leading to her dropping out of school to become his first wife.

Later, during another dry season, while herding far away from home, he met Joyce Tokoyian, 25, who was then a student.

However, he waited for her to complete her secondary school education before putting plans in place to marry her as a second wife

Mako told Citizen TV that he grew up in a polygamous setting and admired his father’s availability of choices.

FOUR CHILDREN

“Kama babangu vile nilikuwa namuona anakuja akiwa mlevi, ama akiwa kule ametoka anafikiria mahali ataenda. Hata mimi huwa nakuja nikifikiria nitaenda wapi, ama jana nilikuwa wapi,” he said.

Both Elizabeth and Joyce have fully furnished houses in Mako’s home in Kisaju and the two houses are similar in size and furnishing.

Mr Mako already has four children, with each of his two wives having given birth to two children.
