Kabogo threatens Muthama and mocks Raila
In what is proving to be the season of hate speech by Kenyan politicians, a video has emerged online showing Kiambu Governor William Kabogo issuing threats to Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In part of the speech made at Thika Stadium last Sunday during the celebration of John de Matthew’s 30th anniversary in music, Kabogo also threw derisive remarks at Cord leader Raila Odinga.
Governor Kabogo’s outburst comes just days after former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa was arrested and interrogated by police over inflammatory remarks at a political rally in Kibera.
In September, while addressing a rally at Uhuru Park in support of the then striking teachers, Senator Muthama made remarks about President Kenyatta that were not taken kindly by members of the Jubilee Coalition.
Other political figures who have recently been under scrutiny for perceived hate speech are Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi.
