Kabete MP murder suspects to be held longer
Six more suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Kabete MP George Muchai will remain in police custody for the next 22 days.
The five are being investigated over a series of crimes within Nairobi and Kiambu which include the Muchai killing.
Amongst them two women, Ms Jane Wanjiru Kamau, Margaret Njeri Wachori, Mr Stephen Lipapo, Mr Eric Muyera Isabwa alias chairman, Raphael Kimani Gachii, and Mustapha Kimani Anyonyi alias Musi.
Police say the suspects were arrested on February 13th in various places within Kiambu with two firearms, one believed to have been used in the killing of the late MP and another taken from his body guard, but police cannot authoritatively confirm this saying they need more time.
“We believe the same firearm may have been used in the commission of other robberies in the country, the investigation team needs more time to wrap up the probe,” prosecutor Robert Kyaa told the court.
