K24 Editor apologises to Alai after copyright gaffe
The Managing Editor of a local television station was recently forced to publicly apologise to popular blogger Robert Alai, over claims the media house had claimed copyright of a trending video on YouTube.
The incident was initiated by a damning accusation by the controversial blogger on Twitter towards the said media house.
“In all their dishonesty @k24 has gone on youtube to claim copyright of this video. LOL @peteropondo,” Mr Alai tweeted.
This message drew an instant reaction from the station’s Managing Editor Peter Opondo.
“@RobertAlai apologies for that. Must be a mistake by someone on the desk,” Mr Opondo responded in a Tweet that received widespread acknowledgement from tens of followers of both personalities.
Nairobi News could not immediately verify if the video in question was the one in which a local politician was recently captured hurling abuses and swearing at Police officers.
