Jesse Were on the verge of Bidvest move

By ISAAC SWILA August 16th, 2015 1 min read

Tusker striker Jesse Were, who currently top the Kenyan Premier League scorers’ chart, is in South Africa to negotiate for a move to the Premier Soccer League side Bidvest Wits.

Were, who has 19 goals to his name this season in KPL, has attracted the eye of Bidvest who are desperately searching for a proven goal scorer.

Bidvest turned their attention to Were after the much publicised move for Kenya international Allan Wanga fell through last month.

Wanga who formerly played for Petro Atletico in Angola as well as AFC Leopards and El Merreikh in Sudan has since joined Tanzanian side Azam.

However, Tusker director Charles Obiny could not give much details on Were’s situation.

“I’ve been away from the club and do not have much details as at now. But I’m aware that he left the country two days ago for South Africa,” Obiny told Nairobi News.
