Jaro Soja, a Presidential appointee, really?

There appears to be trouble in paradise for Gor Mahia’s number one fan, the showy Jared Abong’o aka Jaro Soja.

News that President Uhuru Kenyatta had offered Jaro Soja a lucrative ‘State’ job hit the headlines and blogs a week ago.

Jaro was supposed to be an employee of the Sports Stadia Management Board (SSMB).

A photo was even posted on his Facebook wall of Jaro allegedly working in a fancy office donning a white short-sleeved shirt on a workstation with bottled water, a TV remote control and leather seats in the background.

Congratulatory messages flooded Jaro’s Facebook page!

But in a dramatic twist of, top officials of the institution claim to be unaware of the reports regarding Jaro Soja’s appointment.

PRESIDENT HAS TO BE CONSULTED

“We just heard from various media sources that he (Jaro Soja) has been appointed.  I have heard nothing substantive or official from my superiors in the Ministry and at the Civil service. And I am even yet to see him” SSMB’s CEO Rakki Asman told Nairobi News in a telephone interview.

Throughout this week, Jaro Soja has been walking tall while calling himself as a “Presidential appointee”. He even formally thanked the Head of State.

“I want to thank the President for this job offer. It is a dream come true, I cannot wait to get started. I am a Presidential appointee and cannot just be sacked like that. The President has to be consulted,” the man said on a local television station earlier this week.

Efforts by Nairobi News to get Jaro Soja proved fruitless as his phone remained switched off.
