Janet Mbugua opens up about her post-childbirth difficulty

Former Citizen television news anchor Janet Mbugua has been hailed as brave after revealing private details of the difficulties she underwent after giving birth to her son Huru.

Through her social media platform, the mother of one shared a picture of herself holding a maternity pad, saying she depended on them due to Lochia, a condition that most women experience after child giving.

Lochia is a condition experienced by most women after giving birth a condition categorized by a discharge characterized by blood, mucus and uterine, that continues to four to six weeks after child birth.

Janet said she experienced lochia in a salon, saying no one had prepared her for it.

“No one really tells you how much you’ll need them post-birth. I learned the hard way! Ever heard of #Lochia? I experienced it in a salon. Maternity pads are available in most supermarket outlets, helped me so much during this period! Some people even use adult diapers because it’s so intense,” commented Janet.

Her revelations prompted an avalanche of responses from women giving their experience and applauding her for sharing something that a lot of ladies suffer in silence.

Faimueni said, “girls we should follow to learn something very important that will help us in future… asante sana @officialjanetmbugua you’re doing a great job”

Suzzy Kinuthia wrote: “Thank you @officialjanetmbugua for being real… Keep up the good work and let us know how one can help. Let’s be our sister’s keepers.”

Marionmwe said, “@officialjanetmbugua thanks for sharing such and enlightening us. Such things are real and people will rarely talk about them so people end up learning the hard way. Thanks too for creating this platform for sharing wisdom and great insights.”
