Birthday boy Dennis Itumbi to host medical camp for elderly amid doctors’ strike

State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi will next week spend his birthday by hosting a medical camp in Kirinyaga county.

The event will be held amid a paralysis in the country healthcare sector over the unresolved industrial dispute between the Kenya Medical Practioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) and the government.

Mr Itumbi’s medical camp will be held under the theme “Twende Mtaani na Itumbi” at Kathoge market, Gachugu constituency.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Mr Itumbi said that he chose to celebrate this year’s birthday by giving back to the community.

He said he will be accompanied with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who will offer their services free of charge.

“We all choose to celebrate our birthdays differently, but for me it is a day to give thanks for the many blessings I have received from God by creating a platform for the community to benefit,” said Mr Itumbi.

Medical services to be offered include eye checkups and general examinations.

The event will run from 8am to 5pm and will be open to the general public.
