Itumbi goes overdrive in Raila ‘smear campaign’ – VIDEO
State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi has uploaded a video on social media that pours cold water on the newly found unity between erstwhile political rivals in Nasa.
The video, captioned “Raila Odinga – Isaac Ruto is a Land Grabber”, captures snippets of previous verbal exchanges between Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto and Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga chiefly over land issues in the Rift Valley.
While Rutto’s decision to back Odinga in the August General elections as a member of Nasa represents a complete shift in ideology, the video clip depicts the hostility and frosty relationship between the two leaders before their newly found political friendship.
Odinga and Rutto are now close buddies and blossom political friends following the latter’s endorsement of the ODM leaders as the main opposition flag bearers in the August 8 general election.
In return Rutto, who is the leader of Chama Cha Mashinani, has since been fully incorporated within the opposition Nasa coalition, a deal which will have him appointed deputy Prime Minister and handed a couple of cabinet slots if Nasa wins the elections.
Itumbi’s post elicited a flurry of criticism from Facebook users who read the move as nothing more than mere propaganda.
