Is this Loga’s farewell to Ingwe?
AFC Leopards coach Zdravko Logarusic has strongly hinted that he could be on his way out of the club.
Logarusic took to social media over the weekend to say “thank you and good bye” to the club fans and players.
The Croatian has been at the helm of the cash strapped Kenyan football giants for the past six months, and has, against all odds, steered the team to fourth place on the Kenyan Premier League standings at the midway point of the season.
The former Gor Mahia and Simba SC (Tanzania) coach has however hinted this reunion may be over, in the wake of separate reports of a mass exodus from players who are owed salary arrears totaling four months.
‘VERBAL CONTRACT’
The coach wrote on Facebook (verbatim) : ” Thank you.. to my Leopards fans.. thanks to my players.. it wos (sic) for me incredible.. THANK YOU and GOODBAY (sic)… your coach ZL..”
Sources have since indicated to Nairobi News that Logarusic only agreed on a “verbal” contract with the club’s hierarchy, led by former Chairman Allan Kasavuli when he joined the club.
He has since only been paid for three out of the six months he has worked, and only two weeks ago told the club patron Tim Wanyonyi at a public function that he had no “shilling or dollar in his pocket in a foreign land”.
Logarusic could join a number of senior players, including Martin Imbalambala, Jacob Keli, Jackson Saleh and Wycliffe Kasaya who are on their way out of the den, thus setting the stage for tumultuous second leg for the club, which has also been dogged by administrative squabbles.
