Irate mob confronts football official at High Court

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Deputy President Robert Asembo was on Tuesday morning forced to flee for his life at the Milimani Law Courts, amid a determined chase from tens of youth.

Trouble started as Asembo was leaving the High Court at the end of a court session meant to determine the stalemate between officials FKF and the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) regarding the management of the top flight competition.

The irate youth caught up with him at the main entrance of the building and demanded to know why he was contributing to the “killing of football” in the country.

An argument soon turned out between the two parties and on sensing danger, Mr Asembo fled back into the buildings as the youths gave chase only to be restrained by the security guards at the main entrance.

This is the second time Asembo is incurring the wrath of football fans in the country.

A previous incident occurred six years ago when he was the Secretary General of AFC Leopards.

Then,  Asembo was manhandled and thrown out of City Stadium by irate fans of the club.

Asembo was not available for comment on Tuesday.
