I’m a proud owner of D minus: Joho speaks out on ‘fake’ papers saga


Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Tuesday spoke out on the controversy surrounding his academic certificates.

Mr Joho acknowledged that he is ” a proud owner of D- (minus)” mean grade the got in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

” Not doing well in Form Four examinations is not the end of life. You can turn that around, and that is what I have been able to achieve,” an emotional Mr Joho told journalists on Tuesday.

“Yes I am a holder of D- (minus), but I have been able to change that. I am now a MBA student,” he added.

The governor said he has all the answers to questions posed by the police regarding an alleged forgery of a result slip in his name.

He also said the investigations are part of a witch-hunt by the Jubilee government.

“I saw this coming, I knew how they were going to do it and I have prepared myself to clear the air,” said Mr Joho.

“I am aware that they are now investigating my birth certificate. I have all the answers to their questions,” he added.

He was flanked by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba and Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko.
