Ibrahimovic, Beckham make a weird bet ahead of World Cup clash

Former England captain David Beckham has signed up for a pretty unusual bet with Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the two legends prepare to watch their nations do battle in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

Beckham and Ibrahimovic shared plenty of battles on the field during their illustrious careers that included successful spells at Manchester United and now they have served up some unusual wagers ahead of the last-eight game in Samara.

Ibrahmovic is so confident Sweden will defeat England he has put his money where his mouth is.

The iconic striker is no longer part of the international set-up after hanging up his boots two years ago after Euro 2016.

He used his Twitter and Instagram accounts to lay out a challenge to England legend and former captain Beckham.

He wrote: “Yo @davidbeckham if @England wins I buy you dinner whereever you want in the world, but if Sweden wins you buy me whatever I want from @IKEASverige ok?”

Beckham responded to the challenge.

He said: “If @swemnt win I will personally take you to @ikeasverige and buy you what ever you need for the new mansion in LA @lagalaxy, but when @england win I want you to come watch an @england game at Wembley wearing an England shirt and enjoy fish & chips at half time.”

It seems that not only is there huge interest in Saturday’s game – but also what will happen after between the two former Manchester United stars.
