Husband of former TPF contestant commits suicide

A former TPF contestant is bereaved. Nina Bola, the 2009 TPF contestant from Rwanda, lost her Kenyan husband of five years Omondi Abudho who committed suicide on March 25.

Omondi took his life moments after begging for forgiveness in a Facebook post.

“If I’ve ever wronged you, please forgive me. I’ve forgiven those who’ve wronged me. // Omondi Omondi,” wrote Omondi on his Facebook account on March 25.

Nina, 29, paid a glowing tribute to her husband on Facebook in a series of posts. The couple had imported motorbikes which arrived only after his death.

“Baby, been on a ride today with Pius… Indeed bike is freedom, it’s our life. As I clear both our bikes, I can’t seem to see myself riding without you. We waited for this moment for so long,”

He will be laid to rest on 11th April at his rural home in Kabondo, Homabay County in Kenya.

“There will be a meeting on 1st Wed at All Saints Cathedral at 5.00pm. Contributions can be sent via M-Pesa to Aldrin Membo on 0721820999,” wrote her sister, Jane Abudho, on Facebook.

MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

Nina got married to Omondi, a creative partner at Scanad Ltd Kenya, in 2010 after he created a website with a proposal.

The two had been dating for years even before Nina signed up for the talent search show. Omondi leaves behind two children, a girl and a boy.

Many Kenyans may have forgotten who Nina is as she went silent musically after her eviction from the third edition of the reality show.

She had a rough time at the show often running into trouble with judge Ian. She lasted just three weeks and was up for eviction each weekend, before she was evicted.

Alpha Rwirangira went on to win the prize of Sh5 million (Rwf 35million). Nina currently runs a modelling agency in Nairobi.
