Hurting Logarusic walks out on Leopards

Head coach Zdravko Logarusic has walked out on troubled AFC Leopards.

The Croat coach, hired by Ingwe in February, decried the way Leopards had treated him saying “no one was ready to take care of me”.

“I will be escorted from my apartment today. No one is taking care of my rent and now I am forced to go to back to Croatia. Thank you for everything,” Logarusic said.

Current club chairman Mathews Opwora, accepted that Logarusic had been threatened with eviction due to outstanding rent arrears, but blamed the coach for being unrealistic in his demands.

“We gave him (Logarusic) Sh850,000 last week and we expected that he would use part of this money to pay his rent just like the players have done. Instead, he showed us his contract which shows that the club should take care of his house rent.

“On Friday he gave us two conditions. That we pay his rent and hire a taxi for him to travel to Kisumu, or else he would skip our game against Muhoroni Youth.

“We asked him to be realistic and use part of the money to offset his bill as we source for more avenues to get money, but he was not so understanding,” Opwora said.

The former Gor Mahia and Simba SC coach has endured a difficult spell at Ingwe since signing for them at the beginning of the season.

The last of his woes was a five-day notice of eviction from his rented apartment in Nairobi. The club has failed to pay Logarusic’s monthly house rent costing about Sh115,000 for a period of three months.
