The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is holding a middle-aged mechanic who stormed Huruma Police Station in Nairobi demanding immediate arrest after killing his wife.

Bernard Odiwuor Oyolo is detained at the station where he rushed on November 2 after strangulating his wife Lelila Anyango Okoth to death and demanded to be placed in custody.

Corporal Isaac Kiplangat of Starehe DCI offices on Monday told Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga that police officers proceeded to Oyolo’s house where they found his wife’s body lying on bed.

The body was moved to Chiromo Mortuary for postmortem.

Kiplangat was pleading for 14 days custodial orders to conclude investigations into the murder.

PSYCHIATRIST REPORT

Oyolo works at Jua Kali in Westlands, Nairobi.

Kiplangat said he needs to obtain Oyolo’s psychiatrist report and record witness statements.

Detective said Oyolo has not recorded his statement and is likely to interfere with investigations if released.

He will be presented before court after 14 days.
