Here is what Waiguru said on Uhuru’s cabinet reshuffle

Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru on Wednesday morning sent out a congratulatory message to newly appointed Cabinet Secretaries.

Ms Waiguru, who went under following her resignation on Saturday, resurfaced on her official Facebook account  and wished the new officials all the best.

Her message read; “Congratulations to all the new Cabinet Secretaries following the Cabinet reshuffle by His Excellency, the President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta last evening. I wish you all the best in your service to this great Country Kenya.”

HEALTH GROUNDS

The message comes three days after the embattled CS announced her resignation on health grounds and asked the President to accord her lighter duties that he may deem fit.

Ms Waiguru had been in charge of the Devolution Ministry since the Jubilee government came to power but her fortunes dwindled after she confirmed that her ministry lost Sh791 million in suspicious payments.

During her resignation speech on Saturday, she stated that personal attacks to her and her family had caused her health to deteriorate and her doctor had advised that she takes up lighter duties.

Ms Waiguru’s docket will now be under Mwangi Kiunjuri a former Laikipia East Member of Parliament.

Mr Kiunjuri has in the past served in the Water and Public Works ministry during the Kibaki administration.

RESHUFFLE

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday reshuffled his cabinet announcing that the changes were necessary for effective service delivery.

He expanded the number of Cabinet Secretaries from 19 to 20.

The newly appointed CSs on Tuesday were Mwangi Kiunjuri, Charles Keter, Cecily Kariuki, Cleopa Mailu, Willy Bett, Joe Mucheru and Dan Kazungu.
