Heavy downpour in Nairobi to last five days, weatherman warns


The heavy downpour experienced in Nairobi will continue over the next five days, the weatherman has warned.

According to the Kenya Meteorological Department’s latest five day forecast covering between May 5 and May 9, the weatherman predicts that showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over several places during the afternoon over the period.

Nairobi County which falls under the Central Highlands with other neighbouring counties like Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi will experience showers in the afternoon distributed over few places for the five days.

LOW TEMPERATURES

Rains and sunny intervals will also be recorded in the morning with a possibility of rains over few places in the morning being predicted.

Low temperatures of 9 degrees Celsius and a high of 25 degrees Celsius has also been predicted by the weatherman.

On Thursday evening, rains pounded most parts of the city with residents being caught unawares as most were just leaving their workplaces for home.

In Nyeri, heavy downpours was experienced with locals being faced with flush floods occasioned by the rainfall.
