Health CS launches probe on ‘nurses from hell’ saga

The Ministry of Health has opened investigations against self-confessed Kenyan nurses who exposed their professional misconduct on social media.

The ‘nurses from hell’ had in conversations on Facebook revealed the horrendous acts they commit to their patients that included blatant overdose, torture and neglect.

The Facebook posts have since been deleted, but after screenshots had been shared widely online.

Cabinet Secretary Dr Cleopa Mailu on Tuesday told Nairobi News that the matter has been forwarded to the Director of Medical Services Dr Jackson Kioko and the Nursing Council of Kenya.

The investigations will involve ascertaining if the Facebook posts were made by actual nurses.

He said immediate action will be taken if the suspects will be found guilty of actions they purported to have committed on patients.

“I have asked the Director of Medical Services and the Nursing Council of Kenya to investigate the matter. Of course we have to get to the bottom of this so that we can weed out rogue nurses who are mandated to care for the sick,” Dr Mailu told Nairobi News.
