Kenya’s national football team Harambee Stars could soon play a friendly match against giants Inter Milan when the Italian Serie A comes to an end in May.

Italian Liga- Pro general manager, who also doubles up as Seri A representative, Fabrizio Lucchesi announced in Nairobi that they were exploring the possibility of bringing the Nerazzuri to a tour of Nairobi once the curtain falls on the Italian Serie A in late May.

Should the plan materialize, then Harambee Stars will line up against Europe’s 2011 Uefa-champions in what would pass out to be the sternest test for the Kenyan side.

Besides locking horns with Stars, the Walter Mazzari coached side will tackle a Kenyan league select side in a friendly match.

Mr Luccheshi acknowledged hosting the Serie A giants will be an expensive affair.

He said that stakeholders will have to p00l resources through partnership to fulfill the dream.

“What we are doing is an expansion venture as we aim at building our partnership with Kenya in terms of football’ he said.

Mr Lucchesi is currently in the country leading the Italian under -18 national football team delegation that jetted in the city on Monday.

The under 18 side is set to tackle Kenya’s under 20 football team on Wednesday beginning 6pm at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadiumi, before confronting Gor Mahia’s under 19 side on Friday at the Nyayo natioanl stadium.

“These friendly matches we are lining up we hope will help foster the relations between Kenya and Italy far as football is concerned,” he said

At the same time Kenya has entered into a two year agreement with Italian kit manufacturer Joma that will see the sportswear kit Kenya’s national football team at all levels.
