Harambee Stars to meet Sudan in Cecafa final
Harambee Stars sailed to the Cecafa Challenge Cup final on Tuesday night after seeing off Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in a 1-0 victory at Nyayo stadium.
Clifton Miheso tapped home a rebound in the seventh minute after Tanzania keeper Ivo Mapunda failed to hold onto a 30-yard shot from Anthony Akumu.
Kenya held on for the victory that took them to the second consecutive finals. Last year, Kenya were losing finalists to Uganda in Kampala.
Harambee Stars will meet Sudan in the finals on Thursday at the same venue on the day Kenya turns 50.
Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche described the win over Tanzania as his best moment of the year.
The semi-final match had to be shifted to Nairobi after Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos was rendered unplayable following heavy rains.
