Harambee Stars still waiting for Ruto’s bus and Sh50 million pledge
Harambee Stars players will have to wait a bit longer for Deputy President William Ruto’s pledge of Sh50 million and team bus to be honoured.
Even so, Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa says he remains optimistic that the DP will honour these pledges.
Ruto’s pledged to buy the team a bus in December 2017, days after Stars beat Zanzibar to clinch the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Machakos.
Mwendwa estimated the cost of the bus to be Sh18 million.

The DP also promised to award the players Sh50 million if they qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The players have maintained their side of the bargain an duly sealed their place in the biennial continental showpiece.
“We are hopeful to have the money by March when we will have a full team,” said Mwendwa on Thursday.
Each of the thirty-plus players who helped Stars qualify for the continental championship is expected to pocket Sh1.2 million.
REWARD
Mwendwa also revealed that his team has come up with a payment structure to reward the national team depending on how they perform at the Nations Cup.
A high profile friendly match against Jamaica in London is potentially on the cards for Stars.
So is a three-week training camp in France in readiness for the Africa Cup of Nations, where Stars are guaranteed Sh47.5 million just for taking part.
