Guys, eight places you won’t meet the woman of your dreams this weekend

Nairobi is home to tons of beautiful, ambitious women. This however does not mean that every woman you meet here could be Mrs Right. If you are looking to settle down, there are places in Nairobi that you shouldn’t hunt. Here’s a look into some of them;

1. At the bar – True, Nairobi women love their drink. Walk into any club on Friday evening and you will meet many of them. The reason you will not find Mrs Right here is that a woman at the club is usually seeking entertainment for a night, not a lifetime. Look here if you are only looking for a fling.

2. The airport – While this can be a great place to meet, chances are that the woman you meet at an airport lives quite far from you. She could live a few continents away which isn’t necessarily a very good thing for someone who is seeking to settle down.

3. The shrink’s office – If either you or your potential Mrs Right are seeing a counsellor, chances are that there are things that you are still working through in your life. This isn’t the ideal time for anyone to be looking for a long term commitment.

4. At a women’s clothing store – If a woman sees a man in a women’s clothing store, the common assumption usually is that he is here shopping for another women; namely his girlfriend or wife. If you try hitting on her here, your first impression will be that you are a cheat.

5. At the ATM – To be a woman out in Nairobi means to be on your guard all the time. Every second or third person you meet here is probably trying to swindle you. If you approach a woman at the ATM, her guard will be too high up there. It’s unlikely that you will get through to her. If you come too close, you might even get accused of theft.

6. Online – There are at least a dozen dating sites where single Nairobians flock these days. The problem with looking for love online is that more often than not, people online aren’t who they say they are. This may not be the best way to find genuine love.

7. Rehab – I am not saying that people fighting addiction are not worthy of love. The truth however is that when you are fighting a substance addiction, someone without one will be better placed to help you stay on the straight and narrow.

8. At a funeral – This is one of those places where you should not even try to hit on a woman. It is likely that she is too overcome with grief to even see you more than just a fellow mourner.
