Gunmen raid Kasarani MP’s home, steal a car

Four armed men raided the residence of Kasarani MP Njoroge Chege and injured a guard on Thursday morning.

The thugs stole the legislator’s car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, during the 3 a.m. attack.

Speaking after the attack, Mr Njoroge said his life is in danger since the suspects trailed him and struck shortly after he parked the car.

“I know police are investigating the matter but as a politician who has political enemies, there is urgent need to know who is behind the attack,” he said.

NOT INJURED

Kasarani OCPD Francis Sang has said the MP was not injured as he was already inside the house.

The gang pretended to be Mr Chege’s visitors and registered names at the main entrance of the gated compound.

They struggled to break into the MP’s car raising the attention of the guard.

The guard went to check and was attacked.

Police are investigating if the thugs were after the documents the MP had in the car.

The attack at Mr Chege’s residence comes a day after Korogocho Ward Representative Maxwell Ochar was shot and injured by gunmen riding on a motorcycle near his house.
