The guards, who appeared before Nairobi acting chief magistrate Daniel Ochenja, were also charged with violently robbing Ms Christine Khaendi two mobile phones valued at Sh6, 000.

They denied the charges and were each released on a Sh500, 000 bond with a surety of similar amount.

The case has been fixed for hearing on March 12.

The guards allegedly, jointly with others not before court, while armed with an AK47 rifle, a pistol and crude weapons robbed Ms Mutoko of her Ipads, mac book, five wrist watches, assorted earrings and necklaces and phones.

Prevent robbery

The accused, who are guards at Rosslyn garden where the radio personality resides, are accused of failing to use all reasonable means to prevent the robbery.

According to the prosecution, the accused committed the offence on January 14 this year at Rosslyn Gardens estate, Nairobi.

The presenter was attacked at her home on Monday night  by a gang of seven.

She reported the matter at Nyari police station and was expected to record a comprehensive statement at Gigiri Police station once she had finished her Tuesday’s engagements.

The gangsters were said to have tied up two security guards manning the radio presenter’s house and then proceeded to cut the metal grills on the windows before gaining access to the living room
