Governor forced to cancel tender for fuel guzzlers following public outcry
Isiolo County Government has been forced to cancel a tender notice for the supply of two high end vehicles.
The Governor Mohammed Kuti had placed the tender for the supply of Lexus lx 570 2017 model, whose market price is currently exceeds Sh20 million.
The tender also included a Toyota Land cruiser Prado 2018 model which currently goes for Sh10 million to be used as a chase car for the governor.
Kenyans on social media wondered why the governor is yet to deliver anything tangible since he took office but is quick to spend money on cars.
On Wednesday, the county placed another advertisement in a local daily canceling the tender notice for the two motor vehicles.
Here are some of the reactions from concerned Kenyans.

I find it disturbing that Isiolo County Governor Dr Kuti is purchasing a Lexus lx 570 2017 costing kshs 18 -25 m & a further Prado chase car costing Kshs 10m while there are no drugs in the hospital. County has a vehicle used by previous governor. @KenyaGovernors @WanjiruMburu_ pic.twitter.com/bKWIGBR3Cu

High child mortality rate, lack of proper infrastructure, poor roads, high youth unemployment and water and sanitation problem. BUT guess the priority for Isiolo County Government? A brand new Lexus 570 Vehicle and a Prado chase car for the governor!
I’m astounded. pic.twitter.com/kcs9ar9UCM— Ahmed Mohamed (@Asmali77) January 19, 2018
It’s ploy. Governor pretend to hire from someone but in real sense the vehicles belongs to him. He will awards himself millions from public cofers.

Our leaders are astronomically selfish and self centered. Unfortunately a reflection of the voters.
