Gor to axe Dube, eyes King’atua and Kahata

League champions Gor Mahia has two players Francis Kahata and David King’atua on its radar in a reorganisation plan that will see 11 players fired.

The biggest casualities are vice captain Moses Odhiambo, midfielder Joseph Njuguna, left back Christopher Wekesa and utility player, Ugandan Ivan Anguyo.

Compatriot Dan Sserunkuma’s future with Gor is unclear and reports indicate coach Bobby Williamson has opted to exclude him from his plans for next season.

Teenage sensation Joseph Timonah Wanyonyi may leave the club for trials at an unnamed German second division side while former Harambee Stars forward Patrick Oboya is set for a return to Vietnam.

According to the source who sought anonymity because he is not authorised to speak on the matter, majority of the ones who will be offloaded are fringe players.

Gor Mahia wants to revamp ahead of the CAF Champions League which begins in January and also in preparation to defefend the Kenyan Premier League title.

“When Williamson arrived at Gor he said there were very few players who could play to his tune. The coach said he was making do with what he has as he waited for the season to end. He voiced concern that Njuguna was slow on turns,” the source said.

Ugandan international Musa Mudde has already put pen to paper, as he was a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Simba SC.
