Gor Mahia’s Baba Kizito favourite to bag MVP


The Kenyan Premier League will Wednesday night fete it’s best players at the 2014 Footballer of the Year gala night in Nairobi.

There will be stiff completion in the Most Valuable Player category where five strong contenders will be battling it out for honours.

They are Gor Mahia’s midfield dynamo Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, who will however miss the event as he is in Morocco with Uganda Cranes for a crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Kizito will be battling it out with the Sofapaka duo of Enoch Agwanda and Anthony Ndolo.

Ndolo scored eight league goals in the 2014 campaign from a deep-lying midfield position and a close contest is expected to play out between him and the Ugandan midfield general.

The burly Enock Agwanda, on the other hand, emerged as Sofapaka’s goal machine scoring11 goals and second behind league top scorer Dan Sserunkuma who was overlooked in the category.

Sserunkuma, who will equally miss the event, will however take home the Golden Boot award for the first time after it narrowly eluded him in 2012.

Osborne Monday and Ulinzi Stars combat engineer Stephen Waruru complete the list of nominees in this category.
