Gor Mahia to meet Tusker in Top 8 semis
KPL Top 8 champions Tusker will square it off with Premier League champions Gor Mahia in the first semifinal of the tournament.
The Brewers will host Gor Mahia first, before K’Ogallo take over the hosting honours in the second leg.
Tusker beat Sofapaka 6-5 in post match penalties in the quarterfinals, after the two sides tied 1-1 in regular time.
K’Ogalo on the other hand cruised past Thika United with a 2-1 win on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
In the second semifinal, AFC Leopards will host fellow premier league strugglers KCB in the first leg of their battle for a place in the final.
Ingwe went past Bandari 1-0, while KCB hit Robert Matano’s Ulinzi 2-1 in the quarterfinals.
The draw seems to have placed on form teams against each other, and done the same with the teams struggling to steady their ships in the premier league.
It also presents a potential Mashemeji derby final should Gor and AFC beat their opposition.
The final will however have only one leg, played at a neutral venue yet to be announced by the organisers.
