Gor Mahia player robbed at his Nairobi residence

December 13th, 2014 1 min read

A Kenyan Premier League player was on Friday night robbed of most of his valuables during a raid by thugs at his residence in a middle class surburb on the eve of his 26th birthday, Nairobi News can exclusively reveal.

It is believed the victim, Arthur Ssemazi of Gor Mahia, was initially drugged by the robber(s) at his one bedroomed house in BuruBuru, as he only woke up on Saturday morning to find his flat screen TV set and other electronics, kitchen ware, clothes, two phones, his KPL winners’ medal plus other items all valued at about Sh 250,000 missing.

It seems the assailants had enough time to execute their mission as his neighbours say they overheard people talking and lots of movement “for several minutes in the wee hours of night”, while the lights to his sitting room were reportedly left on all that while.

EMPTY HOUSE

“I went to bed at about 11pm and slept all through the night and heard nothing, only to wake up this morning and find my house empty. They have taken everything.” the Ugandan player told Nairobi News.

“I am shocked beyond words, it is miraculous that I survived all this. I wish to thank my friends and the club fans for their support,” he added.

The former SC Villa and Lweza player, who made eight apperances last season for Gor Mahia, has since sought treatment at a nearby clinic, informed his club of the development and also reported the matter to the Police.
