Gor, Leopards clash in Dar for chance to play Everton

Kenyan giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards are 90 minutes away from facing English Premier League side Everton in a high profile friendly match.

This after the bitter rivals set up a date in the final of the SportPesa Super Cup in Tanzania on Thursday.

The winner of the final set for Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday will play Everton in July in an arrangement made possible by the tournament’s sponsors SportPesa.

The English Premier League side has already announced it will be coming to Tanzania for the highly anticipated friendly at the modern 60,000 seater National Stadium in Dar, a venue that is currently undergoing renovation.

NEW COACH

Leopards under the tutelage of new coach Dorian Marian made it to the final after defeating Tanzanian bigwigs Yanga 4-2 on post match penalties after a barren 90 minutes.

Goalkeeper Ian Otieno was the hero of the match after saving two penalties and scoring the winning one.

Gor Mahia, on their part, made it into the final with a 2-0 win over Nakuru All Stars courtesy of goals from Meddie Kagere and George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo.
