Gor, AFC kept apart in Charity cup draw


Rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards were kept apart in the draw for the Kenya Power Charity Power Cup held Wednesday morning at a Nairobi Hotel.

According to draw, KPL Champions Gor Mahia will play defending champions Sofapaka, while GOtv holders will battle it out against Mathare United for a place in the final.

The draw sets up the prospect of a mouthwatering clash between the two rivals who have both strengthened their squads ahead of the new season.

The games will be played on Sunday February 2 at the Nyayo National Stadium, with the first game pitting AFC and Mathare United at 9 am followed by the Gor- Sofapaka match at 11.30 pm.

The final will be played at 3 pm the same day.

The four teams received the most of votes with AFC Leopards emerging tops followed by Gor Mahia, Sofapaka and Mathare United.

Tickets will retail at sh1, 000 for VIP and 200 shillings terraces.

The teams will use the event to prepare for the upcoming season which starts on February 15.
