Girl in Lang’ata school demo faints

The Lang’ata Road Primary pupil who was teargassed during protests to reclaim the school’s playground has fainted four times in the last one week.

Lucy Njeri, 13, was admitted at Lang’ata Hospital after she collapsed on the Lang’ata Road foot bridge after being engulfed in tear gas smoke but later released.

Her mother Agnes Wanjiru said Lucy fainted on Wednesday.

“The doctor says we need to run more tests to get a clear picture of Lucy’s diagnosis,” she said.

This comes as the Independent Policing Oversight Authority said they have completed their investigations into police conduct during the protests.

They have handed the report to the DPP.
