Girl defiled after being lured with Sh20
A 38-year-old man accused of defiling a minor after luring her with Sh20 has been arraigned before a Nanyuki court charged with the offense.
Douglas Mutuma who appeared before Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutai was alleged to have committed the offense on June 16 at Graton area, Laikipia County.
The girl had been sent by her mother to buy milk and on her way back, she met with the accused who lured her into his house by promising her Sh20.
Thereafter, the accused allegedly defiled the girl and warned her of dire consequences should she tell her parents of the ordeal.
But the little girl informed her sister about the matter.
The deputy headmaster of the school where the siblings study in found the sister demonstrating to other children what the victim told her in relation to the defilement.
The teacher questioned the victim and she confided in her that she had been defiled upon which her mother was informed.
She reported the matter at Umande Police Station and the accused was arrested.
Mutuma denied the charges and was released on a Sh200,000 bond pending the hearing of the case on July 6.
