17-year-old girl dies in Nairobi after botched abortion
A 17-year-old girl on Tuesday died after she had earlier attempted an abortion in Mukuru Kwa Reuben slums, Makadara division.
The Form Four student was visiting her aunt from Kisii when according to the aunt she went to a local chemist on Friday afternoon within the slums were she attempted to procure the abortion.
Police reports say the young girl later developed complications and was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
Police are looking for the owner of the chemist who is on the run.
