GDC manager denies threatening Star editor


A Geothermal Development Company manager accused of threatening to kill an editor with a local daily has denied the charge.

Mr Eric Wamanji Ndung’u  was consequently ordered to deposit a Sh100,000 cash bail.

The court heard that Mr Ndung’u sent an SMS on February 11 at Ring Road Westlands to Star newspaper editor Charles Kerich stating: “It is high time you stop publishing those stupid GDC stories or we silence you once and for all in our own way.”

He faces a 15-year jail term is found guilty.

He is represented by lawyers led by Mr Cliff Ombeta.

The court directed that the defence be supplied with copies of witness statements.
