Three shot dead after robbing and raping woman
Three suspected gangsters were shot dead in Nairobi’s Mowlem area in Dandora on Friday morning after robbing and raping a woman as her husband watched.
The slain thugs are suspected to be part of gang of burglars who were on a robbing spree before residents raised alarm.
Buruburu DCIO, Jeremiah Ikiao, told Nairobi News that they were looking for two accomplices of the killed suspects who are said to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
“The three were shot after residents raised alarm and police who were on patrol gave chase and managed to gun them down,” Mr Ikiao said.
According to the DCIO, a pistol with two rounds of ammunition and a spent cartridge were recovered from the slain suspects.
The police also recovered a TV, gas cylinder and other household items which the suspects had robbed the residents.
ANOTHER INCIDENT
In a separate incident also in Dandora, a woman and a man were shot dead by police on Thursday morning after they attacked and robbed a cigarettes salesman in Buruburu.
While confirming the incident, Mr Ikiao said the two were pursued by police officers after the victim reported the matter.
Mr Ikiao said that the two had robbed the salesman of his cigarettes and Sh40,000 in cash.
“The victim reported being robbed and our officers began a search that ended up in a bar where the suspects had spread out the stolen cigarettes ready for sale. It was there that a shootout ensued leading to the death of the robbers,” he said.
A revolver, three rounds of ammunition and the cigarettes were recovered but the cash wasn’t recovered.
