Eight suspected gangsters gunned down by police in one week

Police shot dead five suspected gangsters in Nairobi over the weekend raising the number of the crime suspects killed in the city to eight in a week.

The five were killed in three robbery incidents. Three others had been killed in Kariobangi last Tuesday afternoon.

Two suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with police in Buruburu after reportedly robbing a businessman in the area.

They are reported to have robbed the milk distributor after making deliveries.

The businessman escaped unhurt and reported the matter to the police who tracked down the suspects.

ESCAPED

Two other suspected thugs were shot dead in Kayole on Saturday night.

The suspects engaged the police officers in a shootout before they were subdued and shot dead.

Two homemade guns were recovered from the slain suspects.

In Ruaraka, a robbery suspect was fatally shot after being caught in the act. His accomplices escaped.

Bodies of all the suspects were moved to City Mortuary for identification and postmortem.
