From flip flops to toe shoes, city MP Theuri does it again

By EDDY KAGERA September 18th, 2017 1 min read

Embakasi West MP George Theuri has done it again, this time showing up for an official parliamentary meeting in toe shoes.

The MP stunned his colleagues when he showed up for the National Assembly induction conference at the Intercontinental Hotel in a jeans, polo short and the minimalist running shoes.

His luck was just the fact that the Sergeant at Arms was away during the morning session on Monday.

Asked why he dressed in that manner, he quipped: “I want to dress comfortably sio kila siku suti…ata ningeenda bunge hivi ingekuwa sawa.”

Many others new MPs who showed up at the conference dressed down were given a warning.

Mr Theuri, a second time legislator, however, says he was not warned.

Recently, the MP showed up at State House in flip flops when President Uhuru Kenyatta met Jubilee elected leaders from Nairobi.

All Members of the National Assembly, both new and old are being inducted at the Intercontinental Hotel.

They have been booked for a whole week at the hotel on half board.
