Flights diverted as thick fog covers JKIA

Heavy fog in Nairobi caused diversion of three flights that were scheduled to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Monday morning.

The flights from Amsterdam, Dubai and Entebbe were diverted to Mombasa’s Moi International Airport.

According to the Kenya Airports Authority, the diverted flights were KQ117 from Amsterdam, KQ311 from Dubai and Air Uganda U7202 from Entebbe.

Operations at the airport resumed after the fog cleared marginally.

The diverted flights later returned and landed at JKIA between 9am and 9.30am.
