A firearm belonging to the late Loyangalani Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) has been recovered a year after he perished in floods.

The firearm belong to DCIO Jackson Kemue was recovered loaded with 15 rounds of bullets intact.

The late DCIO perished in April 2016 after the vehicle they were traveling in was swept by floods in Marsabit County.

At the time of his demise, he was traveling with two other officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who however survived the tragedy.

On that fateful day, the three DCI officers were heading to peace meeting at Illeret when river Balal in North Horr constituency swept away their vehicle. The river had broken its bank following heavy rainfall.
