A post by the first-born daughter of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, has left social media abuzz with chatter over her overt attempts to endear herself to the mother of Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip.

On Wednesday, Saumu Sonko shared, through her Instastory, a video capturing the senator’s mother being featured by a local TV station.

MOTHER-IN-LAW

In the feature, the senator’s mother narrates her life journey and the hurdles she overcame before reaching her goals.

In her post, Saumu, who is a mother of one, urges her fans to tune in to the station and watch her “mother in-law’s” amazing story.

“Catch my mother in-law tonight on Citizen, strength of a woman. I love how you inspire us and challenge us all, you are an amazing woman,” she wrote.

Anwar and Saumu first hit the headlines on June 1, 2019 when the senator was assaulted by unknown assailants at a popular nightclub on Thika Road, where they had been hanging out.

The attack left the senator seriously injured leading to his admission in hospital in Nairobi.

SAUMU’S FUTURE

Days later, while the controversial senator was recuperating, Saumu sent him a sweet quick recovery message.

In the cryptic message, Saumu referred to the married senator as her ‘future’.

Later on, she dropped another hint which appeared to suggest that the two are a couple.

The post captured Saumu in the company of the senator, with governor’s daughter stating that she ‘can no longer hide’ her feelings.

But for all the love he has been receiving from Saumu, early this week, Anwar was hit with a fresh scandal following claims by a 36-year-old woman that he impregnated then ditched her.

The senator has since denied the accusations.
