Fear of losing lovers drives women to C-Sections

Fear of losing their partners is driving more women to having Caesarean Sections.

Nairobi women are too posh to push.

They are checking into private hospitals to have their babies and abandoning natural childbirth in favour of Caesarean.

The wealthy mums-to-be fear labour pains and some believe natural childbirth makes them unattractive to their partners, one expert has said.

Consultant gynaecologist John Ong’ech revealed six out of 10 mums in private hospitals were opting for a C-section, even though the operation could put both mother and baby at risk.

They can suffer a wide range of complications., according to Dr Ong’ech, who is Assistant Director of Reproductive Health at Kenyatta National Hospital.
