EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Victor Wanyama adds Sh25m guzzler to his fleet

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is gradually positioning himself as the richest sports personality in Kenya.

This follows a raft of investments put up by the English Premier League based footballer in recent times, the latest of which is a Sh25 million ride – an equivalent of his two months salary at Southampton FC.

The car, a Volkswagen Crafter, is currently being shipped to Kenya from the player’s base in England, and will be exclusively used to ferry the player’s eight member immediate family around town.

The vehicle was being used for the same purpose during the family’s recent visit to England.

Celebrities who own a similar ride include basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, hip hop star Ludacris and comedian Kevin Hart.

Wanyama also owns a top of the range Audi A8 – 2014 model estimated to be worth Sh10 million, which he privately uses in England.

Also in the process of being shipped home is the player’s Sh8 million worth Range Rover vehicle which was stolen during a burglary at his house in Winchester sometime last year.

The vehicle was recovered by British Police a day later.

The Nairobi News has also exclusively learnt that Wanyama, alongside his elder sibling, Italian – based footballer McDonald Mariga, is starting up a raft of family businesses in the Nairobi and Kakamega.

These include an estimated Sh100 million worth of apartments and three mini-supermarkets, one of which is already operational.

Wanyama was expected in Nairobi on Friday morning for a six week holiday, following the end of the 2015/2016 English Premier League season last weekend.

He is also expected to lead the national football team in a high profile friendly match against Tanzania on May 29, and the dead runner 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifier at home to the Republic of Congo on June 5.
