Eric Omondi under-fire amid dead-beat dad claims

Comedian Eric Omondi, who doubles up as a social media influencer, is now attracting criticism from some of his clients amid reports he is a deadbeat dad.

Omondi’s woes began when his baby mama and TV journalist Jackie Maribe suggested he was not providing for his seven-year-old son.

Maribe made the claim in a comment on Omondi’s Instagram page in which, incidentally, the comedian appeared to be taking responsibility for impregnating one of the contestants in his Wife Material show.

Following Maribe’s mini-rant, Bonfire Adventures Managing Director Sarah Kabu led a host of Omondi’s associates in criticizing him following the allegations.

“You are my good friend and am also ur greatest fan too! but not paying school fees and upkeep for your child and making fun of it live on camera isn’t funny at all. Am heartbroken for Jackie please man up now and take responsibility as I know u make good money with ur comedy. We are living in hard times bana,” wrote Kabu.

Omondi, who made his name on the Churchill live show, is believed to have bagged a six-figure endorsement deal with Bonfire, which entailed him, Maribe, and their son heading for a holiday at the Maasai Mara.

Besides, Omondi’s social media posts suggest he is a man of means, as he has been spotted showing off cash and prized assets including a house he recently claimed to have purchased in Karen. He also once showed of Sh3 million he claimed to have made from performing in one show in Tanzania.

But in his defense, the comedian has claimed to have been ever-present in his son’s life.
