Embakasi West MP adopts three homeless children

Embakasi West MP, George Theuri, on Friday announced that he has adopted three homeless children and enrolled them in school.

According a Facebook post by Mr Theuri, the three children’s parents left them under the care of their grandmother who is unable to support them.

“Another blessed day as I adopted this 3 kids after the grandma who came to my office and told me their story. The kids all along have been on the streets as street children fending for themselves after being abandoned by both parents,” the MP wrote on Facebook.

The post was accompanied with photos of the three children, two girls and a boy, whose ages the MP did not mention.

The first-time Member of Parliament is a father of two children with his wife Cynthia Gitonga.

According to Mr Theuri, the three children who hail from Cotton City – a slum area in Embakasi – have never had any formal schooling.

“After much deliberation with them and told me how they look forward to be in school, I decided to take up the responsibility and enroll them to Nairobi River Primary School (sic),” he added.
