Embakasi commuters stranded after train stalls

Hundreds of commuters from Embakasi reported to work late on Monday morning after the train they were travelling in stalled midway.

The train stalled between Makadara and the Railway station, making it difficult for commuters to disembark and look for alternative means of transport.

“This train usually stalls mid-way on Mondays, now am late for my appointment. Kenya Railways should do something about it,” a distraught lady was overheard telling another passenger.

Inside the wagons, passengers were busy calling and texting their respective places of work informing them they will report late as a result of the mishap.

It was not immediately established why the train stalled mid-way but speculation was rife among passengers that the engine had malfunctioned.

The commuter train usually leaves Embakasi at 7am before making stops at Donholm and Makadara areas to pick passengers.
